Women With Altitude 2026 - Wicklow

15 May 2026

Mountaineering Ireland’s annual Women With Altitude event is back and bigger than ever in 2026! Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17

Women from all over the country will be gathering in the beautiful setting of the Wicklow Mountains with a base at Ballinacor Community Centre Carriglinneen, Co. Wicklow, for a weekend of adventure for all women interested in hillwalking and climbing. ‘Find Your Way" is the theme of this year’s event, and there will be plenty of opportunity to do so over the course of a weekend packed with training activities, our guest speaker and chances to network with likeminded adventurous women!

Please read through the following important information before booking:

Mountaineering Ireland Members Event - Women With Altitude is exclusively for Mountaineering Ireland members, if you are not yet a member, join today to be part of this exciting experience! Click here to join.

Accommodation – This year all participants will be camping at Ballinacor Community Centre Carriglinneen, Co. Wicklow. Further information on facilities will be emailed to attendees prior to the event.

Registration – the registration fee is subsidised and includes camping for two nights (bring your own tent), Saturday night dinner, talks, a gift, and subsidised activities throughout the weekend. You must pay the registration fee in order to avail of the activities.

Activities – we have assembled a team of some of the most highly qualified and influential female outdoor instructors in the country, who will be offering 16 different courses across the two days. You should read carefully through the event programme which includes a description of each activity before choosing.

All activities are full-day activities, please limit your selection to one full-day activity per day.

Refunds – refunds will be granted up to Friday 1st May. The 10% Eventbrite fee which is included in the ticket cost will be deducted from the refund. This policy also applies to changing your choice of activity.

Gear – you will be sent a list of gear needed for each activity prior to the event. A limited number of rock-climbing shoes and harnesses will be available if you do not have them, so please do not let that fact put you off booking onto a intro climbing / bouldering activity.

Transport - we are keen to facilitate carpooling and the use of public transport. If you do not drive, please do not let this stop you from coming to the event. We can put you in touch with someone who has offered to carpool. To organise this, please email [email protected].

Bookings will open on International Women's Day. Click here to Register.
