A gruelling 2 days of full on competition in combined boulder and lead disciplines proved no obstacle for our team as they stepped up to the challenge with confidence, giving an amazing display of quality climbing, grit and determination throughout the event.
Amelie Strong from Dublin made history, becoming the first Irish Female Grand Champion, winning the overall U19 Female Category. Jack Luter from Belfast also put on an amazing performance to take Bronze in the under 19 Male category. Eliza Hill, also from Belfast, completed the trilogy of success with a Bronze medal in the U13 Female Category. With 7 top ten finishes and an overall Team ranking of 3rd place, this is the best result yet for Ireland in this competition. This young emerging Irish team is establishing itself firmly in the Competition Scene, with incredible work ethic and unbeatable spirit of comradery and support for each other.
Huge congratulations to all our climbers who qualified and took part in this event and all the support form our whole youth climbing community at home. Many thanks to Philip Duke, Lauren Conlon and Eimir Mc Swiggan who accompanied the team to Manchester and finally huge thanks to all the parents, volunteers and host venues who contributed to the whole Youth Climbing Series Qualifying Events in Ireland. Looking forward to doing it all again in 2026!
