Bookings are now open for Mountaineering Ireland's 2025 Mountain Environment Weekend!
This year's Mountain Environment Weekend will be taking place from the 13th to 15th of June in the Wicklow Mountains National Park. It will be based out of the Glendalough International Hostel, at the heart of the Wicklow Mountains. The main focus of our outdoor activities will be around the Glendalough Valley and nearby Tonelagee Mountain.
The event is delivered in partnership with Wicklow Mountains National Park (WMNP), with input from others including the Wicklow Uplands Council (WUC) and individuals with expertise on different aspects of the mountain environment.
The aim of the Mountain Environment Weekend is to celebrate what makes Ireland’s mountains special, by sharing knowledge of the mountain environment, through talks, discussions, and time spent in the mountains, learning about habitats and species, and considering our role in helping to care for the mountain environment.
A draft programme of the event can be found here.
If you are unable to attend for the full weekend or live nearby, there are ticket options to attend one or both days without availing of accommodation. Purchasing any ticket for the event gains you access to the Friday evening talks.
