Mountain Meitheal Ireland is a 100% volunteer organisation with a membership base and offers the opportunity to give something back by volunteering to work on maintaining and protecting our fragile environment in hill, mountain and wilderness areas. 

Due to the nature of the projects they undertake in the mountain environs, you need to be 18 years of age or older to become a members. 

Volunteers are welcome, so why not come along and join Mountain Meitheal on a workday and give it a try? No prior experience is needed.

Hands-on training is provided by trained leaders and their work is not all heavy duty; light touch is their motto. 

Projects involve water management, stone pitching, path and trail repairs, routine maintenance and much more. 

Volunteers are not expected to work beyond their capabilities. The standard of the work is professional and, although they take it seriously, it is carried out good humouredly and with a sense of fun.
