The Peaks Mountaineering Club is holding its very popular Knockmealdown Crossing
this year on Saturday, April 22nd. There will be 3 walks to cater for a variety
of abilities.
The A Walk is a Challenge Walk, self-navigating, over a
distance of 29km approx. with a height gain of 1250m approx., requiring a very
high level of fitness.
The B Walk is a led walk, over a distance of 22km approx.
with a height gain of 1040m approx., requiring a very good level of fitness.
The C Walk is a led walk but there is a new route
this year out on the open mountain, covering a distance of 15km
approx. with a height gain of 400m approx. .
Registration is online through Eventbrite, with a link on
our website www.peaksmcclonmel.ie. The closing date will be April 19th.
All walkers will be brought by bus to the start of each walk and the buses will
leave the Community Hall in Newcastle at designated times. A hot meal will be
