Irish Bouldering League

It's the longest continually running climbing competition in the World and it's going strong for the 2019/2020 season.

Venues & Dates

The venues, start date and finish date for each of the rounds are as follows:

Scorecards for each round of the Irish Bouldering League costs just €5. You will also need to pay the normal entry fee to the hosting climbing wall if you are not already a member. 

Scoring Format

Each boulder problem will have marked starting handholds, a Bonus hold and a Top hold. Here's the scoring format:

Top on 1st attempt 10 points
Top on 2nd attempt 7 points
Top on 3rd attempt 4 points
Top on any attempt after 2 points
Bonus hold 1 point

Competition Categories

Each competition category will have thirty problems to attempt. The competition categories are based on age and gender. The competition categories are as follows: 

Masters Male & Masters Female Over 45 years of age
Senior Male A, Female A, Male B & Female B Over 18 years of age
Youth A Male & Female  Born 2002 or 2003
Youth B Male & Female Born 2004 or 2005
  • Competitors must be 14 years of age and older on the day of the competition.
  • Proof of age may be required.
