Please review the following before proceeding.

Are you at least 18 years of age?

Are you an experienced indoor and outdoor rock climber?

Have you a genuine interest in climbing and the supervision of groups?

Are you a member of a mountaineering council: Mountaineering Ireland, British Mountaineering Council, Mountaineering Scotland.

Have you successfully completed at least 15 led routes which must be graded rock climbs with traditional protection? Most of these climbs must have been in the UK or Ireland.

Have you successfully completed at least 15 led routes at a climbing wall?

Have you successfully completed at least 5 led routes which must be outdoor bolt protected sport climbs.

Approximately how many routes have you climbed in total?

How many different areas in the UK/Ireland have you climbed in?

Please provide the name and contact details of an RCI/SPA holder or *experienced climber who is familiar with your climbing experience and can confirm the above. *this should be a more experienced climber than yourself

Please be aware that by registering for this award, key data including your personal, registration, training and assessment details will be shared with Mountain Training UK & Ireland and Sport Ireland Coaching (Formerly Coaching Ireland). Data is shared for the purpose of facilitating seamless candidate training between the Republic of Ireland and the UK and for maintaining current training data within the island of Ireland. All data sharing and storage will be in accordance with the relevant Data Protection protocols and legislation.

Please note there are no longer paper log books for the Rock Climbing Instructor/Single Pitch Award. All activities should be logged on your digital log (DLOG). You can access your DLOG by logging in to you personal profile on www.mountaineering.ie
