Title:  Irish Bouldering League 2020-2021
Date:  04/09/2020

The Irish Bouldering League is reputedly the longest continually running climbing league in the World! Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 the 2020-2021 season of the Irish Bouldering League is going ahead.

Each round of the Irish Bouldering League features thirty boulder problems for all competitors to attempt. The problems range in difficulty and style - at each round there should be something to challenge almost every climber, from relatively new climbers to seasoned crimpers. Each round begins at 11:00am on a Saturday and runs until 6:00pm on the Sunday fifteen days later. This gives climbers the opportunity to compete on a day and at a time that best suits them. Competitors can also come back for as many times as they want to attempt the climbs.

The 2020-2021 season of the Irish Bouldering League will take in five rounds at five different climbing wall. The venues and dates for the five rounds are:

3 Awesome Walls Cork Saturday 21st November  Sunday 6th December
4 Gravity Climbing Centre Saturday 16th January Sunday 31st January

To compete in the Irish Bouldering League you simply pay your entry fee into the climbing wall and then pay an addition €5 for a scorecard. Members of Mountaineering Ireland will receive their scorecard free of charge, just bring your current membership card with you.

Current COVID-19 related restrictions on the numbers of climbers at a climbing wall must be adhered to, this is not a behind closed doors competition. If you are travelling to a round you should check ahead with the wall to make sure that you will be able to compete.

The Irish Bouldering League is jointly sponsored by Rab and Lowe Alpine. Two brands with a long history of supporting the Irish Bouldering League.
