Title:  Youth Climbing Series - Round 1
Date:  26/01/2016
Round 1 of the 2016 Youth Climbing Series took place on Saturday 23rd of January. The Southern round took place at the UCD climbing wall in Dublin were 57 young climbers took part. The Northern round took place at the Foyle Arena in Derry with 32 climbers taking part. That's almost ninety young climbers having fun, making new friends and pushing their climbing performances. The Youth Climbing Series competition also takes place all over England, Scotland and Wales, in all there were fourteen YCS competitions happening on Saturday, that's a lot of young climbers!
The standard of climbing was very impressive, with climbers across all categories at both of the venues putting in some really strong performances.
There is a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who gave their time and effort to make both of the competitions run so smoothly. Smooth running competitions mean a better day for the kids. It was brilliant to see so many parents helping out. It's also brilliant that so many non-parents are willing to give their time to help more kids get involved with climbing. Without all this help the Youth Climbing Series would not be possible.
