BMC International Winter Climbing Meet 2016

24 - 31 January 2016, Aviemore, Scotland

Mountaineering Ireland are inviting applications for the 2016 BMC International Winter Climbing Meet in Scotland. Preference will be given to those who have not attended a previous BMC Meet.

The BMC International Winter Meet 2016 will be held at Glenmore Lodge in the heart of the Cairngorms. This event is a great opportunity to experience Scottish winter climbing and to meet a varied bunch of climbers from 25 countries from around the world. As an international guest you will be paired with UK host climbers who will take you out during the days and show you the full delights of Scottish winter climbing. There will be presentations in the evenings.

To take part in this event you must have experience of climbing routes in winter conditions using ice axes and crampons. You need to be fit for the long walks and you must be skilled at leading winter routes, placing protection and building belays.
