Who is the meet for?

The ‘meet’ is for everyone - walkers, rock climbers and alpinists of all ages. This is a wonderful opportunity for all members new and old to meet old friends and make new ones, go walking, mountaineering and climbing in some of France’s most beautiful scenery. 2019 sees a emphasis on Youth & Family participation, which will be supported by the venue & course offerings

Courses at the 2019 meet

•             3 & 5 day Alpine Skills: Introduction, Intermediate & Advanced

•             3 & 5 day Alpine Skills development for youth mountaineers & Climbers

•             All courses delivered by fully qualified UIAGM International Mountain Guides

Bursaries for Young Alpinists

Mountaineering Ireland has received a donation specifically to financially support 18-25 year olds taking part in Introductory, Intermediate or Advanced alpine training courses running as part of 2019's Alpine Meet.

The 3 or 5 day courses are being run by Irish UIAGM International Mountain Guides, John McCune, Paul Swail and John Orr and are the perfect way to learn or develop the skills of alpinism. Places are limited, so if you are interested, study the course details and apply using the Alpine Meet Booking Form and marking it as YOUTH.

•             Sport Climbing Learn to Lead

•             Movement skills for rock climbing
