Mountain Log Summer 2025

MOUNTAIN LOG HIKER EXTRAORDINAIRE 81 After arduous days like his Mournes crossing in 2024, how does he keep going and run over 70km the next day? Doesn’t he ever feel exhausted? “I’m recovering all of the time,” he says. “I walk the first kilometre each day to warm up, and I walk, not run, the last kilometre each day.” He doesn’t offer any further explanation, but see also his aforementioned daily runs. A big thank you to Aidan for sharing his expertise and knowledge with readers of the Mountain Log, as well as for his wonderful photographs. May his big adventures continue, and may commercial sponsors step forward to support his expeditions as he showcases the best multi-day hikes available in Ireland, Britain and beyond.
