The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has published a public information leaflet 'Protecting yourself against Tick Bites and Lyme Disease'.    Last November  Epi insight reported that Lyme Disease is often under reported in Ireland.  The article is available here.

HPSC specialist in public health medicine, Dr Paul McKeown said that the leaflet would be particularly useful for ramblers, campers, mountainbikers and people who work and walk in forested or grassy areas.  However he stressed that even amongst these groups the risk of contracting Lyme Disease is low.
