FEEDBACK ON THE ’09 MEET
Over the coming weeks I will be posting a feedback form on our website www.mountaineering.ie under the Alpine Summer Meet pages. We would greatly appreciate if you would take time to download this form, complete and return to us. This information will be the focus of our plans to tweak the meet for 2010.
WHERE TO IN 2010?
Over these two weeks in Innertkirchen I have heard almost constant debate around what makes a good location for the annual meet. The important decision as to where we will be going the following year needs to involve all interested parties; the Guides, the course participants, the attending members and the organising staff. I would be very interested to hear your suggestions as to where and why you would like to see the meet go for 2010. Please feel free to drop me an email with this or any other information; tim@mountaineering.ie
MONEY MATTERS
Before departing please make sure that you have covered all you bills with the Camping Grund site. We have organised a Mountaineering Ireland Meet price, so make sure they are aware that you are part of this group.
Some of you may not be aware that for the last few years, Mountaineering Ireland has charged a €20 registration fee for all attending the summer meet. This fee goes towards assisting the organisation expenses, administration and incurred running costs. If you were not informed of this payment and registration, we would be very grateful if you could follow up on return to Ireland. This can be completed simply by contacting Kate in the training office: kate@mountaineering.ie or tel: 016251117.
CLOSING CEREMONY
Unfortunately we were let down at the last minute by Pat Kenny and Brendan Grace, and so will be resolving back to the well proven end of meet BBQ. Although the weather Gods look determined to dampen our spirits on the Friday, we will keep optimistic for an 8pm start. Please bring along your own particular fancies in the way of food and drink. The BBQ will be well warmed up by eight and ready for a demonstration of your culinary skills. We are looking for a few more musicians this time and I have already started work on building a rosewood dance floor.
MEET MEMORIES
This year we are compiling a photo DVD of pictures of the meet. If you would like to include some or all of your photos, just approach me with your memory card whenever you see me with my laptop on (usually around 8am in the morning – upstairs). If you would like to have one of the DVD’s of everyone’s pictures sent out to you, just check out the meet page on the web site in the coming weeks for details.
