Youth Alpine Initiative

Who is this for?

Active hill walkers, mountaineers and climbers aged 16-19 years old.

Participants need to have a current interest in the outdoors and a desire to develop their mountaineering skills. This initiative is the ideal opportunity to access focussed training in the range of skills necessary to pursue alpine mountaineering adventures. The programme requires a huge commitment of time, effort and expense for both the volunteers and participants. A programme of training days in Ireland leads towards a trip to the Alps, where the skills can be applied. We see this initiative as providing a suite of skills to facilitate the transition of young mountaineers into the next generation of Alpinists.
