Lead Climbing League

The Lead Climbing League is a fun and friendly lead climbing competition for climbers of a wide range of ages and abilities.

Introduction

The Lead Climbing League features three rounds of fun and friendly lead climbing within a competition setting. Each round features ten routes, with competitors being given two attempts per route. The Lead Climbing League is an ideal opportunity for keen climbers to get together and test themselves on top-quality routes in a competition setting.

Dates and venues

For 2018 it is expected that two rounds will take place in Dublin and one in Cork.

Times

Entry

• Entry fees for the competition are accepted on the day of the competition.
• There is no online entry.
• Entry fees are as follows:

• All competitors must fill in a Climbing Competition Registration Form.
• The form is available at the competition registration desk and for download via the following link: Climbing Competition Registration Form. 

Format

• Each competitor will have ten routes to attempt.
• Routes will be led.
• Competitors are given two attempts per route.
• Each route will feature five scoring holds.
• Ten points will be scored for holding the top hold and clipping the top anchor.
• Points are awarded on a reducing scale as follows:
