Irish Bouldering League

The Irish Bouldering League is a fun and friendly climbing competition for climbers of a wide range of ages and abilities.

Introduction

The 2017/2018 season is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the the Irish Bouldering League, reputedly making it the longest continually running bouldering competition in the world!

The Irish Bouldering League attracts climbers from a wide range of ages and abilities. From young to old and novice to expert the Irish Bouldering League provides a fun and challenging day out.

Senior, Senior B and Masters climbers compete on the Saturday. While the Senior category is for high level climbers, the Senior B category is an ideal category for novice climber to get involved in the Irish Bouldering League.

Sunday is the turn of the younger climbers, with categories for Youth A, Youth B, Youth C and Youth D.

Entry

  • Competition entries are accepted on the day of the competition.
  • There is no online entry.
  • Entry fees are as follows:
Mountaineering Ireland member €10 / £9
Non-member of Mountaineering Ireland €15 / £14
  • All competitors must fill in a Climbing Competition Registration Form.
  • The form is available at the competition registration desk and for download via the following link: Climbing Competition Registration Form.

Format

  • Each competitor will have twenty boulder problems to attempt.
  • Competitors have three attempts per boulder problem.
  • Competitors score points for 'Controlling' the 'Top' hold.
  • Points are awarded on a reducing scale as follows
